The raw, incomplete, undiluted, ‘imperfect’ humanity of Jesus is the key to understanding Incarnation – the central core of the Gospels.
From this we know that the human person, regardless of gender or imperfections, is what the incarnate God looks like! It was from within the human womb of Mary, the womb of Creation, that God emerged in the shape of the human infant. Not a belated rescue-plan from on high, not a condescending descent from above, not an added Plan B from outside, but the long-awaited fleshing, in a tiny baby, from within the very heart of our God-infused life.
It was for this moment that Creation happened. Everything was already within from the very beginning.
